2012 Camp Information

Offical Camp Check-in: Campers please arrive on Sunday, August 12, 2012 between the hours of 12pm and 2pm. (Not earlier as another group will be departing before us) Lunch for Campers Only will be served at 2pm.
If you are driving to the Camp: Please follow our printed Directions as many GPS systems have difficulty locating the exact location of the Camp.
How do I Contact Someone at Kokushikai Judo Camp During the Week of Camp? 1. The best method of communication is by e-mail tocamp@kokushikai.comand someone from our Staff will contact you as soon as possible.
2. Starting 8/11/12, you can call and/or leave a message for Celita by calling 201-797-8988 as this line will be forwarded directly to Celita's cell phone.
3. Starting 8/12/12, you can still call 201-797-8988 or you can call Camp Wayne main line at: 570-798-2511 ex 26 to speak or leave a message for Celita. Please allow time for us to respond as we are not always near the phone to pick up immediately. This line is probably your best bet at night. However, if it is urgent during the day, you can also call the main line number and ask for Josh and he will deliver the message to Celita.
Please remember that we have planned an exciting week of judo for all participants of Kokushikai Judo Camp. Our time is best spent supervising the Camp activities. Please reserve calls for urgent matters only.

Campground Facilities Rt. 247, Preston Park, Pennsylvania Camp Kokushikai occurs on the grounds of Camp Wayne for Boys and is situated on over 400 acres with two private lakes. It is located in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania approximately 2 ½ hours from New York City and Philadelphia.

Transportation
We offer round trip Bus Service from the NYC/NJ area with departure to Camp on the mornings of August 12th with return service in the afternoon of August 18th. Seat reservations must be made before July 25th to secure a seat and can be made through online registration or on the PDF Camp Application. Final time table for bus schedule will be posted at www.kokushikai.com closer to the start of Camp.
Individuals arriving by plane are advised to book their destination to Scranton, PA or Newark, NJ with arrival on Saturday, August 11th. Departures should be scheduled for Saturday, August 18th, 3pm or later if possible. Closing Ceremonies will be occuring on Saturday at 10:30am and there should be an allowance of at least 3 hours for driving to airports. (Scranton airport is closer.) Please provide flight itineraries to Kokushikai if you would like assistance with your transport to and from the Camp. Kokushikai Judo Camp (KJC) Youth Scholarships Youth between the ages of 9-25 may apply for full or partial tuition to Kokushikai Judo Camp 2012 through the KJC Youth Scholarship Fund. Number of recipients will be based on availibility of funds. APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 18, 2012. New Extended Deadline: July 30, 2012.
Family Discounts Judo can be a rewarding family sport. In order to facilitate this, we offer a 10% discount to the second family member and also a 10% discount to each additional member registering thereafter.
Club/Coach Discount When 10 or more students of the same club register, the 11th person is welcome to attend free of charge. Make sure that all registering participants indicate the club and instructor name so credit can be received. Coach/Club can decide who receives the complimentry tuition but needs to notify KJC in advance for proper placement.
