Kokushikai Judo Academy is a traditionally run New Jersery Judo dojo located in Fair Lawn of Bergen County in northern New Jersey. Judo is not only a martial art and self defense, it is also an Olympic sport. Judo classes are taught by 3x Olympian, Celita Schutz and Olympic Coach, Sensei Matsumura. Ages 3 ½ years and up are welcome to apply for their age appropriate classes.

Invitations to the Spring Orientation classes will be sent to parents who have provided their contact information to Celita Schutz either by phone or email.

Tiny Tiger classes are small special classes for students between the ages of 4 to 5 years of age.
Tiny Tigers are the best way to build your child's confidence and judo skills while improving physical ability and discipline in a small group setting. A maximum of six children are permitted in each class.
Young 6yr-olds have the choice of Tiny Tigers OR our regular Pee Wee classes.
Pee Wee classes are ongoing.
Trial classes in Pee Wee classes can be scheduled at any time.
All other ages can also schedule a trial class in age appropriate classes at ANYTIME.

Breaking News!! As of October 12, 2020, Governor Muphy has officially lifted contact restrictions for JUDO and other close contact sports in the State of New Jersey.
We are thrilled to now offer full contact classes in addtion to our no-contact classes in our schedule.
In accordance with Executive Order #187, Kokushikai Judo Academy still adheres to screening procedures for all of our members and instructors, limited capacity classes, extensive cleaning and disinfecting, and maintaining our facility to keep everyone safe at all times.

Kokushi kai Judo Academy of Fair Lawn, New Jersey is a traditional judo dojo (school). 3x Olympian, Celita Schutz and Sensei Matsumura, graduate of Japan's Kokushikan University conduct each class. Every class contains individual attention to technique, group instruction and time for individuals to test themselves in newaza (ground grappling) and tachi-waza (standing). Class etiquette, safety and appreciation for others is emphasized. Ages from age 3½ years and up of all levels are welcome to apply. Judo classes available for Tiny Tigers (ages 3½-5), Pee Wees (ages 5-6), Children (ages 6-9), Youth (ages 9-12), Teens (ages 12-14) and Adults (ages 14 and up).
