Sting made WCW what it was from the popular young energetic surfer sting in the 80's to then the crow Sting in the 90's Sting carried that brand. I must say WCW had a great roster and when NWO formed that was when WCW took off and seen heights that it had never seen before but Sting was always the guy for WCW.Goldberg came much later and was sort of the new upcoming star.
If you're talking about The NWA as well as WCW then it's Ric Flair.
If you're just talking about WCW then it's Sting. Sting was WCW, he was the company's franchise player.
