Wrestling: Why did they book Rusev to beat Cena?

Professional Wrestling 101: Which Wrestler will most be helped by a victory? In this case, it's Alexander Rusev. John Cena winning doesn't help WWE. Having John Cena lose by passing out won't hurt John Cena's Career. This helps Rusev more.

Had Cena not lost, he would either win by DQ, or it would end in some sort of draw.

They want Cena beating Rusev to be special, since he's going to be the first guy to break the winning streak. WWE probably thinks that it's better for him to do it at Wrestlemania 31, than at Fastlane, which is a filler ppv.

Because they're planning to have Cena beat Rusev at Wrestlemania. This is just inducing more build up.

My best guess is that people were questioning Rusev's never been pinned steak so they had him beat Cena to try to really quiet the talk that Rusev is not good enough to not be pinned yet.

They did that to make Rusev more legit, as Rusev had more to gain from the victory than John Cena.

I was kinda hoping that Ryback would be the one to challenge Rusev at WrestleMania 31 & end Rusev's undefeated streak & capture his first championship, the United States Championship.

I think Rusev will get his first lost at Mania against Cena

To put Rusev over as a major heel

To make Rusev look stronger and more unbeatable so at WM 31 when Cena beats him it will be more shocking.

Cena is good but rusev is better then cena

Because they are building Rusev up as a top heel in the company..but to honest im tired of it..it would be funny to see him lose his first match to Sin Cara..
