Wing Chun or Taekwondo?

Definitely Wing Chun, It is better for self defense and to learn it you don't have to pay any money or leave your house because there is a teacher giving free lessons on YouTube named Master Wong. I have been using his system and believe that I'm doing well. You should have a friend helping you so they can tell you whether you are performing the right actions and stances. You will also need them for many exercises. They don't need any martial arts experience. I'll put the links in the source.

Depends why you want to take it. Taekwondo is better for sports and competitions but based on your last comment I don't think that's what you want. Wing Chun is definitely more effective in combat situations. But as you already, a good teacher and school are really important. I'd far rather have an excellent Taekwondo instructor than a crappy Wing Chun master. I'd recommend Wing Chun, but check out the schools weigh out the positives and negatives.

I would say you should take up Wing Chun for a number of reasons. First of all, in a street fight the high kicks performed in Taekwondo almost never work. Most kicks that are thrown in any altercation are low kicks. Sure, one in a million fighters like GSP can successfully land a high kick on target, but you're not GSP and neither am I.

The other reason you should take up Wing Chun is because it is a disappearing martial art, at least in the U.S. and other developed countries. Most martial arts schools today are either MMA or Taekwondo. Wing Chun is becoming a novelty that you only get to read about online or in magazines.

I would choose wing chun because it's more practical for self defense. But I understand your dilemma...distance can be a real drag.

The one that has a good school is important.

Ignore that stupid kid who doesn't know crap about tkd, he's just 8 and has no Martial Art knowledge whatsoever.

If you have some fats in your lower body ,then you better go for wing chun ,cuz taekwondo 99% focus on the legs ,although that wing chun is harder and need much faster reactions and it's more popular in MMA world

but If aren't fat ,then go for taekwondo it is more fun

I really want to do Wing chun but the places I can go to is very far while there is a Taekwondo school in my town. Which is the best in your opinion. I know it depends on the Teacher and You but on experience which is more dangerous.
