Why would the twins re sign Mike Pelfrey?

He is honestly one of the worst pitchers I have ever seen. He never gets any strike outs and when he pitches its like batting practice.

I agree that keeping him on the team -- and giving him a raise -- was a curious decision. It shows how desperate the Twinkies are for pitching because they're willing to fill out the staff with any warm body.

Pelfrey was roughed up at Target Field last season, going 2-6 with a 5.79 ERA and 1.68 WHIP, so I'm not sure why Minnesota would want to hang onto someone who can't win at home...or on the road for that matter.

Maybe the Twins put together a rec league basketball team in the off season.

Mike Pelfrey is a ground ball pitcher, so strikeouts aren't a big part of his game. He's got good stuff but struggle with his command, leaving a lot of pitches hang high in the zone, and that's when his sinker doesn't sink. I hope he can put it back together.

Shows the lack of depth in their farm system.

The good news for Twins fans, I promise 6-10 well pitched games this year. That's how often get puts it all together.

they needed a pitcher?
