From what I understand there is another dude that is waiting in line right now and if he does a rematch then that dude has to wait about another year for the title shot. In which case he has to risk his title shot ticket and go for another fight to get paid or just wait for a whole year without any fights and ultimately without any pay. That I believe is the official reason given from Jones camp.
As whether that’s completely true or if there is a conspiracy in all this only Jones camp will really know. We can only gossip about it.
I agree with Cary. Ducking an immediate rematch. They will fight again. Look for Gus to win the rematch and then there be a rubber match
