Why do the Tigers lose so many doubleheaders?

It is most difficult to sweep a doubleheader, no matter the opponent.

A winning club like the Tigers will sometimes tank the 2nd game of a DH. It's just not worth the risk of running out all your starters, risking injury and tiring them.

Here they took 3/5 from the Royals and maintained their lead in the division.

What you are talking about means nothing, except it may be aggravating.

Their backups are sub-par. Plus just like the other guy said, it's difficult to sweep a doubleheader

I dont like how Leyland used the rookie in the second game over this past weekend twin bill. By losing the first game the undue pressure was then on the rookie in the nightcap. Verlander should have started the second game instead. As it turned out we got swept like you said.

I think you worry too much about this. It has happened to the reds as well. I don't worry about it since a long season and there is always tomorrow.

Got no clue. They play so few double headers anymore that it's not really an issue for me.

because we are going to win the world series this year !!

Some teams, no matter how good, just seem to do that.

Because they stink so bad.

This century the Tigers have swept three doubleheaders, 2002, 2005 and 2009. They have lost a ton of them, at least one in 2001, 2003, at least 2 in 2005, 2 in 2007, 2008, 3 in 2010, 1 in 2012 and 1 in 2013 so far. Is there a reason for this. I absolutely went nuclear this weekend.
