There are several possibilities, some more likely than others:
- There shorts shrunk in the wash/dry cycle.
- The think it attracts people like you, and they crave attention.
- It is vogue in video infotainment wrestling and they tend to be trendy people.
- They wear as little as possible so their opponents have less clothing to grab.
I think the last choice would be the most probable.
Actually, I never watch that sort of video infotainment, so I don't even know if your observations are accurate.
But I have seen it in the past and I will take your word for it.
As long as it's a good looking female wrestler with a nice body I have no problem but If it's a guy...I'm not into that.

First off Hulk Hogan wears long tights. Also they wear them because it makes them look more masculine. Lou Thesz started the trend way back when. Personally I prefer to see at least slightly longer trunks.
