It's because not a lot of people can do what that person is doing. How many people do you know that can backflip while standing still? Probably very few if any. It's impressive because of how rare it is. Like swimming. It's not impressive to be able to swim because many people can.
Can you do any of thoese things? People are often impressed by seeing others do things which they personally can not do...
He can do back flip (back tuck) but is he good in math, painting or a musical instrument?? Everyone is gifted in their own way.

In my personal opinion , idk if it's true , but I think it's because that a person can do something that is impossible for another person . Like lets say , a girl name lucy and an another girl name sally. Sally can run , 5mins miles while lucy can run 10. It's impossible for lucy to run 5 mins miles , unlike sally
Like lets say if someone did a backflip or if some dude did 3 claps in one push up( one in front, one in back, and one in front again. Why do humans get impressed by each other..
