Troy Tulowitzki. I mean look at every other position. The top player has at least one or two guys who are at least moderately close to him. Posey and Molina at catcher. Votto and Goldschmidt at first. Cano, Pedroia, Phillips at 2B, etc. Nobody comes close to what Tulo brings at short. He's the best offensive short stop by a mile and a half. He's got the production of a corner player at short. Then factor in that he is a top defensive player as well. I know he's got all those injury issues, but when he's healthy he's my clear pick for best player in the NL. Perhaps the entire league.
I'm gonna go with Joey Votto or Buster Posey.
Votto is 6th in the NL in batting average with almost 40 RBI already and he has the highest OBP. Posey's not far behind at all either, he's also hitting in the .300 range with 42 RBI.
Andrew McCutchen
Right now, it's Yadier Molina. He plays the most taxing defensive position as well or better than anybody in the league and he is just crushing fools at the plate.
Right now, its Goldschmidt from the D-Backs, but overall, I would go with Posey. To have a a guy like that on your roster who is also a catcher is priceless, they only come along once every 25 years.
The Buster Posey
Ryan Braun
this season, Paul Goldschmidt
Jay Bruce
Carlos
Gomez and Gonzalez
Ryan Braun
Votto.
Joey Votto.
Note: I would have said Braun if it wasn't for Mr. Steroid.
Probably Votto, Braun isn't, he took steroids...so I guess Votto.
