Let's be real last season from last place to this season at first place! Not to mention everyone in that lineup is contributing big time! Pitching this year has been good but nothing AMAZING! If the Sox were smart they will trade Will Middlebrooks for Jake Peavy in chicago. And instantly i don't think anyone could stop them then if Peavy gets added to that rotation.

Yankees are most likely going to miss the playoffs the Os have a chance but it will come down to the Red Sox and Rays the rays are a rising team and are on a tear but the Red Sox have been consistent all year so we'll see
If the Sox and rays play .500 baseball the rest of the way, they will each win 90+ games. That's IF they only play .500 ball, which they probably won't play that poorly. So you can assume one of those two will win the division and the other will still make it into the playoffs with a wild card spot. Actually, it's possible that both wild card spots come from the AL East
The Red Sox have better hitting and the Rays have better starting pitching. I hope it's the Red Sox, either way it will be between those two teams and it may go down to the wire.

While the Rays have strong pitching and are playing well, Lackey and Lester are having great years and the Red Sox are an all around stronger team offensively this year than the Rays.

i am really digging the rays. i wouldnt be surprised if the red sox win it but im going with the rays. i want it to be the yankees because im a yankees fan. i just say one thing dont count us out of that wild card! go yankees
