Simply put...he would be disgusted. While he didn't believe in the "limitations" of traditional "dogma" in martial arts, he did believe in making sure what you learned and taught was genuinely effective.
Lee was extremely critical of "phony" martial arts. He said something to the effect, "real arts have a tang, a flavor that's instantly recognizeable".
He had little regard for tradition.
It has been reported that when Bruce Lee was co starring in the television show, "The Green Hornet" he was approached with the offer to open a string of "Kato Karate" studios across the US, which would have all been what are now labeled as a "McDojo".... He actually needed the money at the time however, he flatly turned down the offer.
It makes it exciting.
What do you think? He was involved with a lot for Kung Fu movies and that was the the first spark. Whatever martial art is on TV there's bound to be fraudulent schools, right?
