What is wrong with Kimbo slice?

is honestly that good of a fighter? I'm new to MMA. Ive seems some of his fights but whats the huge attraction to him? is he honestly that good? tell me weaknesses and strengths

He was a street fighter who had internet recognition due to videos of his street fights that he'd film.(I think is was agreed on empty hand duel to win money or something like that) He's a good fighter(definitely could beat me up), but he wasn't as great as the hype made him out to be.

Because the company he fought for at the time was pretty much riding on his popularity, they trying their best to protect him by giving him fights that he would be comfortable with. Kimbo had lost a fight and the winner of that fight claimed that the company, that they were both fighting for, tried to influence the way the fight would be fought(little incentive to box rather than grapple). Both of those shock was enough to close the company.

I think Kimbo would have made a good mma fighter if he didn't have fame propelling him faster than he could train for.

He's really not that good at all. That's why his last MMA fight was almost four years ago.

Kevin "Kinbo Slice" Ferguson made his name as a Youtube celebrity when bare-knuckle fights of his showed up on the site. In his first few MMA matches, the promotion Elite XC pushed him onto their main card, despite the fact that he hadn't actually been training for MMA that long. They paired him up against less-than-stellar competition, relying on his celebrity status for ratings. It worked for a while.

Then he got knocked out by a jab from a guy who was hopping around on one leg. His total record at the time was 3-1.

Ferguson then tried out for the UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter" reality show/contest. He quickly lost his match on the show, but like most of the TUF cast, received an abbreviated contract. He had an embarrassing showing vs. Houston Alexander, where both guys were afraid to throw punches but somehow managed to exhaust themselves to comical levels, before losing by TKO to Matt Mitrione. Ferguson's record stands at 4-2.

He was never that good. The name he made for himself from his backyard fights made him marketable, but he was too unskilled at all the various aspects of MMA, and he started when he was too old to really get good. Honestly, in interviews, he comes across pretty well, but as a fighter, he pretty objectively sucks.

What happened the people pretend to be my friends so I going to say what they will never know I will say Kimbo is all right.

his age

he blossomed too late and got cut due to the ufcs policy

of the majority of people thinking he was a freak show thus probably

making the ufc into a freak show ,

he beat houston who at one time was considered the next big thing

also someone like cpt america whos lost his fair share in the octagon

stayed because of name recognition ,they didnt want to take that chance with him

so yes in the end ,it was the politics and the hoard of fans who wanted him out

he had good boxing with big power. he had no ground game. i think if he was younger & not rushed. it would of been as diff. story.

i have had a combo slice
