What do you like about fights?

Fights. MMA, boxing, karate. Why are they so interesting?

Looking for holistic views.

Aggression, Determination, Skill and Control. All fascinating things to watch in a fight -- be it MMA or karate.

I like watching talent: skill, control, speed; the ability of a fighter to spot or draw out an opening; the foot work.

Sometimes, I see slugfests with lots of speed, but, apparently, they're relying on strength and stamina. to me, this is pointless.

Also, I don't have much understanding of some sports, like boxing, mma, judo, or wrestling, so, I don't know what it is I'm looking at. And, in some sports - like taekwondo - that I have familiarity with, I don't like watching top matches, because often, fighters are playing to strategy; they sometimes stall, don't take chances, wind up in clinches all the time. To me, not very exciting.

First off, I love sparring and fighting, it's super fun, so I also enjoy watching people fighting. Even if it's styles that I don't know about, I like to watch it so I can see and understand how the technique works. It's cool to see the grace and power and also the strategy and aggression that comes during a fight.

So basically for me it comes down to the fact that it's really fun to watch and it's nice to see and use as a supplement to help develop my fighting skills.

It's a science to me. I like watching strategy and technique at work. I like watching guys who are really good at something do their thing.

Occasionally, I get wrapped up in some of the drama that comes with it. Ali-Frazier 3 is one of my favorite fights to watch, because the guys are fighting exhaustion as well as each other, and even decades later, there's a part of me that wonders which one of those guys is going to collapse first.

Proving yourself and your abilities. Skill and control. Focus.

As for "real fights" as in outside of sport context and for self defense, are never enjoyable, bc I hate seriously hurting people.

I can care less about a fight between two talentless hacks. There is nothing more boring than two people only being able to hit hard and it's even worse when both of them are out of control with emotions. But a fight between two people who know good techniques and have skill and use them is something to watch. People with aggression, anger or other emotions in a fight are out of control and lose canons and counterproductive to any skill if they ever had any to begin with.

being in them or watching them? either way who wouldnt want to watch that thats what i dont understand iotys different then watching a guy get jumped and hit with chairs on worldstar its 2 skilled fighters fighting. fighting in our dna thats why worldstar and the ufc exist

how it is neat that their are so many diff fighters, skills, heart, speed, power, strength, chin, diff. martial arts, violence, their like superheroes, how they win.

i waiting for the day when cris cyborg shuts up loud mouth ronda rousey,

For me I like to watch fights and practice what I see.

Problem solving. Each fight is a chess match.
