What did you think when Sting lost?
It surprised me, that being his first WWE match (let alone wrestlemania), it shouldn't have. Like everyone else mentioned, it got turned into a Monday Night War battle, which I was under the impression Sting was strongly trying to steer away from. I should have indefinitely known once DX and NWO showed up during their match, but a part of me still thought Sting would have been honored a bit more than that.
Its why I don't like HHH. It was supposed to be WWE vs WCW and they had WCW represented by 3 WWF guys. They should have had people like Lex Luger, Ric Flair, and Scott Steiner there. And there is no way that he should have lost. At the end they acted like the WWE guys were the baby faces, when they were the heels all the rest of the time. It just didn't make any sense. And of course Sting should have won.
Honestly...it didn't surprise me too much. Can't have a WCW product going over a WWE product. That is a Vince McMahon thing.
But Vince respects Sting, and probably wanted Sting to get that WM "moment" he deserves. I do believe Sting got that moment. You could see it on his face even through all the paint...it was special for him. The crowd adored him.
Exactly as expected. It had to be that way.
