What aspects matter in a fight?

The most important attribute in a martial artist is the ability to channel aggression. If you can channel your anger, you can break any board and win any sparring match.

You could rewrite this whole question without "I'm the greatest speech". You're 13 years old. I know right now you think you are the $hit. I promise you, you are just $hit.

What matters the most in a fight? I would say humbleness. Why? Knowing that you are not the best and knowing that your opponent can and will injure you is important. If you go in there with your attitude you will get eaten alive.

Since you probably don't practice any martial arts I would recommend that you go down to a MMA or boxing gym. Go there for a week. Then when you come back with a black eye I, then tell me that you are the greatest.

You see this is where most people get confused about. A marital artist and an athlete are two separate types of people. Just because you kick or punch it doesn't make you a martial artist. It's safe to say that you, Dennis, is not a martial artist. You're an athlete. Machida, Silva, and many other ufc/mma/k-1 players are athletes not martial artist. The moment you take an art form and throw away it's philosophy and values it's no longer an art. For instance....one of the core principles in traditional styles is to never use the art for entertainment purposes..in this case....the ufc/mma/k-1 or kung fu movies. There's a differences between promoting an art and fighting for your own benefit.

A real martial artist lives as a martial artist. This includes adhering to the philosophy and values. A martial artist only use his/her art when they really need to and it's usually in a severe scenario.

You sound like Damian Wayne. Anyways, the edge and all things in martial arts that gives you the edge. Its not muscle, speed, kata, reaction time none of that. Its all about how smart you are. Let me run you a what if. Lets pretend someone comes with a basic combo of punch punch kick, I promise you your brain is gonna tell you to either A: block B: redirect or C: back up. Now the thing is do you keep fighting and "defend" or do you back up and talk it out like a mature young kid like you seem to be? See...its all about how smart you are.

You may be good at the martial art you do, but that doesn't make you a good martial artist due to the fact that your martial art(s) could be crap. Ever fought an MMA fighter? Muay Thai fighters? Boxer? BJJ fighter? If you can't beat them, then you should switch martial arts, because obviously you're lacking...

there is saying "experience is a great teacher", many fighters have chosen to fight so many competitor just to see whether his practice really works or not, because in fighting competition there are so many unpredictable variables going on, sometimes a weak opponent could win and sometimes the strongest fighter could defeat so many fighters, so why don't you search on what kind of dojo you could join that suitable with you so you could try your capability

size speed technique all help in a fight. but the most important is expierence. Spar and compete as much as you can and fighting will feel natural to you.

Adaptability marks the genius in the crowd. If you can't adapt to your opponent, you're dead.

Dang you show off way too much...

just know how to do it and be smart about it...

I do martial arts and I very good at it and I mean very good however I do not want to seem like a douche. I just wanted to know what makes a good martial artist, I mean some people have a natural talent for it like me but what is it that gives me the edge over others. First off I have really dense bones and I was born with high muscle mass, I am thin, 5"7 and weigh 143 pounds (60 kg) and I'm 13.I am very strong, i have wrestled men to the ground. I have very powerful kicks, I can make a 50 pound bag hit the roof and they are also very fast. I have powerful punches and both my kicks and punches are very fast. I am a very fast runner and very agile, i do rugby and i ran past 5 guys and dragged 4 guys twice my weight halfway across the field and scored. I have fast reflexes and can focus very well. I am highly skilled at martial art and have technique. I have excellent balance and control. So i just wanted to know which of these attributes matters the most and which of these gives me the edge above others when it comes to fighting.

Thank you for a time and i hope i don't sound like too much of a boy who's lost in my own world created by my ego.
