It isn't as "gentle" as aikido..
aikido, since it is defensive, one wouldn't learn how to kick somebody (unless that kick is used as a distraction, which seems rather unlikely) as one would in hapkido.
In addition, in aikido when delivering the defenses you stay on the ground, while in hapkido there are jump kicks.

Hapkido- It is korean martial art It includes joint locks(Chin na in chinese) with kicks and hand strikes for long range and pressure point strikes and takedowns for shorter range.
Taekwondo- Its martial art that mainly focuses on kicks than hand strikes and there are no takedowns. Its Korean modified version of Japanese Karate.(Koreans have strong legs and calfs as they live in high mountain range, and japan invaded korea and introduced karate. But taking advantage of their geographical condituons they added new exercises and conditioning techniques like running on mountains and practicing in sand especially on beach.) Many TKD practitioners in korea practice on beach.
AIkido- Its japanese martial art that mainly focuses on joint locks (Chin na in chinese)especially wrist locking and control. It includes some principles of Dividing muscle/tendon and misplacing bone. It also includes falling techniques (Ukemi) which shows you how to break the fall and prevent injuries.
all of them contain both striking and grappling even aikido.
aikido is described, by the founder ueshiba sensei as having 70% strikes, including kicking.
taekwon do out of the tree of them has the most kicking
but what separates them the most is there philosophy, tactics, footwork, and origins.
