So What's Wrong With The Philadelphia Phillie's?

Lots of injuries plus the core players are getting older. The defense is okay but the offense sometimes doesn't show up to the game. When healthy their starting pitching is excellent but their bullpen is awful.

They need Doc back in the rotation and Howard back in the lineup. They will be a much better team once this occurs.

Well I am a Phillies fan so I know the answer. Well the minor league affiliate is bad. Like the players that are supposed to develop into quality starter I'm the major league don't. We over pay high expectations like Howard, utley, Halladay. None of them have lived up to those expectations in like 2 years. Yes we have hamels and lee but besides them we have nobody. Well our closing pitcher paplebon but he doesn't really win games he just saves them. We also have signed really bad Free agents. Michael young is 37. Ben revere is on the DL. Delmon young was released. John lannan is on the DL. last time I knew mike Adams was too. Amaro gives the coaches nothing to work with so they lose. The only constantly good players are hamels, lee, Ruf, paplebon and dom brown. And I'm still surprised Ruf is consistent. Frandsen is also good. Alot of people doubt him but he's not bad. He's hitting like a .300 as a pinch hitter and .270 Al together so he's not bad. John mayberry provides depth in the line up too. But he's not very consistant. But its the other players that can't score and the young pitchers that give up to many runs. Especially that new outfielder that you off waivers casper Wells.

The manager was the biggest problem. Not sure if Ryne can turn them around, but we'll find out pretty quickly. There's still plenty of talent on that team to be at least somewhat competitive.

Injuries and old age came a knocking

Too much money and not enough of effort. I'm not a Phillies fan, but that's how I see them from the outside looking in, and as a Braves fan, you probably see the same.

Too many injuries, too much money and a couple of toxic attitudes.

Age?

Injuries?

Expectations too high?

I'm just curious.

I thought their would be a tight race between Washington and Philadelphia with Atlanta playing catch up to try to make the playoffs.

Thanks and thumbs up to all who answer ... just give me time to get back and read the answers.
