Should I continue wrestling?

I broke my collarbone wrestling late into the season and I was out for a while. While I was out a few weeks later a couple guys on the team got wrestling herepes. They are still on the team and wrestle in the same room I would be wrestling in. Should I go back and is it worth the risk?

"wrestling herpes" is actually a somewhat common thing. however, if your school or coach doesn't do anything to prevent it (i.e. makes sure the wrestling area is clean, informing the players of safe and proper hygiene, etc.) it might not be worth the risk. i'm surprised the parents haven't voiced their outrage by not.

i'd say tell your parents to call the school about it. make sure the school knows they should be doing more to protect the students. have them call the other parents and tell them to do the same as parents of high school athletes so often do.

by next season your collarbone should be healed up nicely and (hopefully) there will be a safer environment and you'll be fine.
