Shotokan or kyokushin or boxing?

which is the best for street fights and self defense my opinion is shotokan but i want to know what you all think =)

Are these styles actually available to you? If they are visit them all and decide which one has the best teacher and classes, whichever one has those two things is the one you want to be learning.

If you join a really traditional Shotokan or Kyokushin school more than likely they will frown on the street fights. For self defense if the teacher in those schools teaches self defense then it will be good for self defense. If the teacher teaches it for sport then it will be good for sport. All martial arts styles can be taught many different ways for many different reasons. It is the teacher that determines that so it is your job to check out the school prior to joining. If they both teach self defense pick the better teacher. One teacher is bound to be better than the other.

Boxing is a sport. While not totally useless (something is always better than nothing at all) in self defense it does train with big gloves, taped hands and rules something you will not have in the street.

All three are solid for self defense. Check them all out and train in the one you prefer.

Shotokan and Kyokushin will add more than Boxing but Boxing is very solid too.

Shotokan has many McDojos so watch out for them.

I agree with arist, but if you had me at gun point and said choose a style, then I’m biased towards kyokushin. But best plan is to visit the places and check out the facilities, instructors, and other students.

Shotokanpal...like you're not half biased.

I'd think Boxing or Kyokushin, neither of them have reputations for being chock full of McDojoism.

Boxing

The one with the best instructor.

There are no better styles, only better schools and people.
