I don't think he was really any better of a fit on either team, because the Rangers and Yankees have always had similar teams. The cost of living isn't as much in Texas. There's no state income tax. Had the Rangers stayed healthy, Choo probably had a better shot of winning with the Rangers, if that was his motive for signing with Texas.
He would have fit in better in NYC because free agents aren't really expected to do anything there. But signing with Texas was the smart move because the cost of living is so much lower there (no state income tax), there's room to move, and the fans aren't animals.
There have been more than a couple of players who have turned the Yankees down because they prefer not to play in a sewer.

Rangers having bad year worst record in baseball have lot of injuries. Yes yankees have injuries but there still only three games back from al east my opinion is choo would've been better off as a New York Yankee.
