Of the four Yankee fans above me, 2 like the Jets and 2 like the Giants. Make it 3 for the Jets. It is mixed. I'm sure in New York, Yankee fans tend to be Giants fans while Mets fans tend to be Jets fans. See, the Giants played at Yankee Stadium from 1956 through 1973 and the Jets played at Shea Stadium from 1964 through 1983, so that could be one reason to explain why there are more Giants/Yankees fans and Jets/Mets fans than there are Giants/Mets fans and Yankees/Jets fans. But once you get outside New York, it's a crapshoot. Same deal in hockey (Islanders/Rangers) and basketball (Knicks/Nets).
I'm personally a Yankees-Jets-Knicks-Rangers fan and I live in Connecticut. I know a lot of people who like the same teams I do and some who like other different combinations. There is no real "correct" sequence of New York teams you should be cheering for, geographically or otherwise.
I'm a Yankees fan for baseball and Jets fan for football but that's not as common. Usually those who are Yankees fans prefer the Giants during football season, and Mets fan generally prefer the Jets.
You got it right for hockey for fans who live on the New York side of the Hudson River. Fans in New Jersey are more Yankees than Mets fans but for hockey go with the Devils.
Yankees fan are predominantly Giants fans since the Giants used to play in Yankee Stadium. Met fans are predominantly Jets fans because the Jets used to play at Shea Stadium.
As for hockey, Yankee fans are typically Ranger fans and Met fans are typically Islander fans because William Shea helped bring both the Mets and Islanders into existence.

Let me see if I have this correct but 'diehard' Yankees' fans I think when it comes to football are Jets fans and it's the Mets fans that are Giant fans. Now, yankee fans that also like hockey root for the Rangers and the Mets' fans that like hockey are more Islanders.... So, tell me New Yorkers, do I have that correct?
