Practice help. bo staff, sword, eskrima sticks?

As mentioned it's called a Bo. Just bo, but don't fret lol, it's a classic mistake and one even I am guilty of.

As for the bo, sword, and escrima...

YOU MUST learn these from a well respected teacher. No ifs, ands, ors, or buts about it. You simply cannot effectively learn weaponry by yourself and without the presence of a teacher who knows EXACTLY what they are doing.

The Bo is a very complex weapon. Way more to it than fancy "cheerleader" type twirling. It's super complex and learning it is difficult at first.

The Katana is just as hard. It is beautiful art with such intricacy. It takes years and years to be "masterful" with a katana. I have been learning it for almost 9 yrs through Ninjutsu and still consider myself to be "intermediate" or a "glorified" beginner with it, bc sparring with my master is a joke... for me, bc he "kills" me pretty much instantly.

I have no experience with escrima but I know it isn't a walk in the park either.

Find a school that teaches your desired art.

I can't say I'm a true proponant of books and/or videos for a sole source of training, but given your situation, there isn't much else you can do. I mean, I do utilize both as training aides/tools, but moreso to jog my memory rather than to learn from scratch.

If there truly is no other alternative, I would say go for books or videos; maybe by the time you move elsewhere, you can find a school that teaches what you seek and you'll have a bit of a headstart. Others might say you'll develop bad habits and could risk injury by training improperly, and this is true; do what you can to avoid injury while learning the gross mechanics. A qualified instructor can clean up whatever else needs work.

the word bo means staff, saying bo staff is like saying bo bo or staff staff.

as for sword, there are hundreds of types of swords and thousands of styles.

if you dont have an instructor or school near you then your basically screwed. you cant learn martial arts or weapons on your own you need a qualified instructor you are only as good as your instructor. if you haveno instructor you wont be any good.

I would say bo staff and eskrima and then Jeet Kune Do with Kajukenbo and clean diet just to make a positive out reach.

LOL Bo staff haha... waiting for all the regulars to pounce on this now... cant believe i beat them all haha

I really want to practice with my training weapons, but I don't have any gyms that teach stufg like that. I have punching bag and that's it. Anything I can do? Any answers helps, thanks
