Muay thai so aggresive plese help.?

Ignore the tough guys pal (seriously, why bother answering if you're gonna be so unhelpful?), muay thai is a very hard style and it's understandable that you're a little intimidated. Try talking to your coach, don't be afraid to ask sparring partners to go a bit easier and make sure you have good protective equipment. Also, can I ask if you had this problem with the boxing? If not then maybe you should stick with that, it's still very effective for self defence. In fact Geoff Thompson, who's one of the most respected figures in the contemporary MA community, rates boxing as the #1 martial art for self defence

PS Rollingrock - "it seems like you are the kind of person who wants to put in the least effort for the most output". That's actually a very smart attitude. Better than putting in loads of effort for minimal output, no?

If you think Muay Thai is aggressive and you are concerned about getting knocked out, you haven't been to a traditional hardcore Kajukenbo school. I have trained in Muay Thai for a few months, what we did in the Muay Thai class was a lot more pleasant than in a traditional Kajukenbo school. Yes, in Muay Thai there was a lot of cardio work, but overall, the beginning students are not brutalized like in a Kajukenbo class.

In a traditional Kajukenbo workout, most beginners quit after the first class, the majority quit within the first week or two. In the very first workout, you are asked to allow the entire class to punch and kick you for real with no gloves and no protective equipment. Then the beginner is asked to do the same thing back to the rest of the class.

Then your courage is tested in the multiple opponent simulation drills. The instructor is evaluating the new student as to whether he shows fear or not. Most beginners are traumatized and do not come back for a second workout.

So, be glad that you are training in Muay Thai, and go back for your next workout!

I disagree with matt. Muay thai is not a hard and complicated style its probably the simplest style there is.

Everybody else is on the money, we can't motivate you to get back in the gym by typing you some motivational essay. If you like playing games more then training there is nothing wrong with that, otherwise get back in the gym.

is this a real question? muay thai is not based on raw power. it seems like you are the kind of person who wants to put in the least effort for the most output. it doesn't work like that you need to put in hard work. and yes your punches/kicks/clinch will be stronger if you had more power. that is something you need to do if you want to be an athlete. lift weights. let us never forget thought technique before strength.

Then don't let them get a clean shot. Courage isn't something someone can give you in an internet paragraph, you have to find it within yourself. Nothing in life comes easy so if you want to be able to defend yourself, man up and get back to the gym.

- Hope this helps

You don't become a real, tough martial artist by slapping bags like girls imagine ex boyfriends, all that patty cake crap is good for is feeding the MMA crowd to think that TMA is worthless.

As for muay thai, it is an aggressive style because it was founded on war and killing. Boxing was founded as a sport.

Let me ask you, if you don't mind, what is the point of this question? What can we online strangers, or self proclaimed 'experts' tell you that will motivate you to go back into muay thai? You have two options, quit or:

You went from boxing to muay thai and still you think it's tough. You must have been at some crappy school.

Nut up or shut up, mate

Ok it has been two weeks since i left boxing cuz i wanted something for self-defense and i took muay thai but its so hard and everything is of raw power one clean shot and any1 will get knockout now how do i get my courage back to enter the muay thai dojo.
