Michael Pineda, good or bad?

Pineda is a really solid part of the rotation when he's healthy. His era this year is insane and the only reason he had the line tar incident was that he had been in warm places every time before that so the cold made him lose grip and he either had to pine up or watch his ERA rise

As other have said, Pineda is a solid pitcher when he's healthy. While he has the talent to become a star, it's likely that injury issues will plague his career, and he'll end up as a good pitcher that could have been great if he could have avoided injuries.

Durability issues aside, there's no denying Pineda has talent. We really have too small of a sample size to determine how well he'll do at the major league level but indications are he will do well. He definitely has top of the rotation talent.

He just needs to learn how to stay off the DL.

Pineda is a dominant pitcher. He was as good as Tanaka early in the season before Pineda got hurt.

I heard that he has a lot of upside potential, but that he is short on brains. If so, that could be his downfall. Only time will tell.

Yes, when he's healthy. His problem is he's rarely healthy.

Do you think Pineda is a good pitcher? Can he get the job done? I don't want smart answers such as "no, he has to use pine tar to throw a ball". I want an educated answer from someone who knows his stats, his numbers. I saw the game where he got ejected for pine tar and he threw poorly, he pitched horribly. I just want to know if he is amongst the good pitchers in the Yankees bullpen.
