Martial Menu: how do you guys eat?

For the traditional and the sportive martial artists out there. Are there special diet plans or strategies you follow, and if you do what is it and what do you do?

Mainly a Mediterranean diet but not a very strict one, I can eat other type of foods as well....It does wonders, I recommend it:)

Also I don't eat more than when I am full.....

A dish....

Octopus in red wine, potatoes with olive oil, lemon and parsley (plus a bit of pepper and salt) and a Greek salad...

Enjoy, if you want to try it:)

Lol, I like what John said. I really don't have a specific diet, though I do eat relatively healthy.

1. I have a very, very, very, high metabolism. It's crazy.

2. I used to try to get a little bit bigger and gain more mass to fight in a higher class, but I learned I would have to eat over 12000 calories a day bc not only is my metabolism ridiculously high, I am also a serious hardgainer. And it's not that I don't work out hard. My best friend is an active Army Ranger and trains me when he is not on duty. And we focus on fitness in akban and mma. Don't have time or money for that.

So in short, I can eat pretty much whatever I would like with no worries. Diets, plans, etc, unfortunately don't seem to work.

I Love Italian food and Shrimp Lo Mien

Problem is with long hours of heavy training, you'll be eating lot, I mean lot of foods! When I was into bodybuilder before having disease call Diabetes... I would drink 1% Milk instead of 2%, and only drink waters.. If you must have pop, go ahead drink one to reward yourself for hard work.

I eat lot of steak, potato...all that protein to get lot of energy for next day workout and more muscle mass.

No Candy Bar, No Junk Food. Well they say that your body need sugar, so only eat few.. like during weekend when taking a break from workout during the week.

The most important thing to do before your workout is stretching! Otherwise you'll be sore for months! I kid you not. Also Stretching loosen up your muscle and you'll feel so much better.. so stretching is what build up your muscle while doing weight set.

Remember.. No pain No Gain, so Force yourself to Stretch alot! I promise you, you will feel so much better.

It depends on how many calories you burn on an average workout day.

When I was working out 3 times a week, I drank a gallon of whole milk every day, ate twice as much as I did before I started working out, and I still lost weight!

im on two diets the see food diet and the dont eat anything bigger then your head diet, they have worked out good for me so far

I follow the "I eat when I'm hungry diet". Works for me.

I'm vegan, but that's just because it's healthier. It has nothing to do with me practising martial arts.
