Karate kicks not as flexible after sore back?

The pain in my lower back is still a bit painful and my left leg seems a bit tighter than what it was. Could this be because I'd tight muscles in my back? Thanks.

If you are stretching, then it's probably something else.

It could be your kicking technique.

Get a massage for your lower back, and also on your legs. Have the massage also target the sciatic nerve.

Make sure your body is relaxed, and try doing your kicks slowly. You want to identify what range of motion is causing the issue.

Good luck.

Your legs back and abs muscles are all connected when one is tight they usually all tend to be tight

Stretching your legs before and after working out will help

Don't you stretch? If you don't then at 27 you won't walk. At all. Stretch carefully for 30 minutes before you kick. Your instructor should tell you that. Give it a rest for a day, then stretch the next. Search TKD Stretches if you're curious.
