The hate doesn't really have a specific reason, it's just the general animosity between all the New York and Boston fans (Knicks and Celtics, Yankees and Red Sox, Bruins and Rangers, etc)

If you have to ask, you'll never "be more of a Yankee fan". So, in your case, there is no reason to absolutely despise the Red Sox.

Not really. The Sawks, for the most part, are inconsequential and something of a joke. There are far more reasons -- sense of entitlement, innate arrogance, and cheating -- to despise the Steinwienies.

Since I am a recent Yankee fan (I am a former Oakland A's fan, grew up as an A's fan) therefore this whole rivalry is new to me. I still have to learn a lot in order to be more of a yankees fan. Would I not be much of a true yankees fan if I didn't got into the rivalry?
