Martial arts will condition you. It is also not about strength but technique. The better your techniques the less you will have to use strength. I do Chinese martial arts and a lot of the greatest Chinese martial artists were sickly when they were kids. Martial arts helped them to get stronger.

13 years is not too old and actually a perfect age to start. You will have better coordination, more understanding and a much better focus and attention span than a child.

To old to start is 80. Your 13. Thats when I started kempo. I'm 16 1/2 now and it was the perfect time to start!

Do pushups, planks, and pullups (assisted, if you need it) and those three exercises will get you prepared for it. Yes you are very light. But I was maybe 100 lbs when I started. Now I'm around 155 pure muscle! But martial arts isn't usually enough, usually you have to lift too, and for you I'd recommend power lifting.

That is one of the reasons people start training - to get stronger (physically and mentally).

Yes you can absolutely do martial arts, anyone can.

Many great martial artists started training at your age.

You can never be too old or too weak or too anything to train (or start to train) in martial arts.

Technique is more important than strength. However strength can be a factor in a fight.

You have to start somewhere. Who you are is who you are so get started find what works for you and develop your strength along the way.

This is why you go to the class, to get stronger, not just physically, but mentally too.

No your not to old to start. Your weight is relatively low so if you want to prove your tough you must take care of your body and mind by consuming a healthy diet.

yes thats too old and yes your momma is totally right. your frail body will just snap if you are kicked, punched or thrown in a dojo

im about 90 ish pounds and i want to join martial arts. I'm pretty weak and skinny so do you still think i will be able to do it? my mom thinks i wont though,but i want to become stronger. also im 13, is that a bit too old?
