My suggestion is to work hard at being the best outfielder possible, the coach obviously sees something in you skillwise to think you can be an asset to the team in the outfield. The most important point to remember is that the more positions one can play the more valuable one is to the team and increases the likelihood of being in the lineup.
You don't want to be at first. First base is for crappy fielders who hit the ball hard. If you're in the outfield then you are probably a better defensive player than who ever you have at first. Anybody can play first, that's why they put good hitters who can't field at first. I'd be glad I was in the outfield if I was you. If you really want to play first though just ask your coach and maybe see if you can practice that position during practices. If you're good at it then he might think about a move. Anyway that's my advice from an old firstbaseman.
Work hard
Most coaches are ***** so they have a theory that good hitters play good positions. Start hitting
