How to be more agressive?

Talk to your instructor. When he sees you being less aggressive than you should be ask him to penalize you in some way. The negative reinforcement should help.

if you want your bjj to be more aggressive join judo or wrestling both are aggressive by default if you want your game to be more passive do more bjj. Being aggressive isn't want you want you just want to become more decive but that comes with pratice and tech quite I'd stick to being passive its probably the reason the purple belts train with you becuse you don't crank **** you don't know and slam people without a care in the the world I was much the same as you going in and I allways get compliments on my technique. I save all my aggression for wrestling and judo which you should be doing with bjj after a couple of months to a year anyway.

If you don't want to win, or even worst, want your opponent to win, how can you expect to win? All things, being aggressive, determined, the pure satisfaction of being the superior fighter, they all come from the desire to win.

No one on here can inscribe anything that is going to help you until you have that champion mentality. And yes, I seriously doubt you choked a purple belt.

Make them win more until you get that feeling of being stepped on. After that, you will realize that to win is the only thing you can do to get your glory back..........NO WEAKNESS! NO PAIN! NO MERCY!

Arron, what you're asking for really isn't legal

I agree with KW.

@arron - STFU. You're acting like an a??hole.

Join a real martial art school and not a fake one and train with a real instructor

Listen to death metal

I recently joined jiu jitsu and it's been a few months but I find the days we spar when I roll with others I seem to be just stronger and they can't get a take down or submission and I start to feel bad and I think subconsciously I let them win. The issue is I'm a white belt with one stripe so I'm still really new and I got a takedown on a purple belt and choked him within 10-15 seconds of starting. After we got up and started again he was trying and trying and couldn't sweep me and went for an open guard pull and ended up hanging off me while I was leaning over. How can I not be as nice and not try less to be nice
