How much will Muay Thai benefit my Boxing?

i went to one of those mma gyms...where it was like boxing..muay thai.wrestling..at different times... i started with muay thai and my boxing was really really bad if someone went hard core on me i couldn't fight back but now that i took boxing a couple times i am starting to feel a rhythm when i throw jabs and shit and my jabs got a lot better...if you can throw great punches and have good reflexes and get that boxing feel if you kno what I'm talking about plus devastating kicks i think its great standup mix

seen a lot of muay thai fighters get boxed the fuck out

Boxing benefits Muay Thai more than the other way around. Muay Thai is a more rounded and complete striking style, though.

Unless your MT teacher emphasizes punching during training, it really wouldn't benefit your boxing much at all. There are subtle but important differences in even the fundamentals, like stance and footwork. You don't get good at boxing unless you train boxing. It would be akin to joining a 100m dash competition when the only sprinting you do is running bases in baseball. Alright, better than someone who doesn't sprint on a regular basis, but you're not doing an activity that benefits what you're looking to improve.

It's better to focus on one at a time.

Lots of folks get bored with that though, so mix it up.

But they don't get to the same level.

A LOT

I currently train in Muay Thai 4 days a week 2 hours a night. Our training consists of 5x3 minute rounds Thai pads and bag work, with 20 minutes technique, 30 minutes clinch work and 30 minutes sparring. If I also did boxing, I can only attend the sparring classes one night a week due to a tight schedule. If I did Muay Thai 4 nights a week and Boxing sparred one night a week, could my Boxing become crisp?

(If it helps, I regularly use a speed ball & ceiling to floor ball at home.)
