A major league game usually lasts for nine innings; or if the home team is ahead it will last for 8.5 innings. If after 9 complete innings the game is tied then extra innings will be needed to be played in order to determine a winner. Time wise expect a regulation, nine inning game to last around 3 hours. However, depending on many varying factors, such as who is pitching, how many hits and runs there are, how many walks and pitching changes occur, it can result in a game lasting 2.25 hours to perhaps even 4 hours.
A baseball game does not answer to a clock.
However, a typical game played to completion, without going into extra innings (it's not called "overtime" because, again, not slaved to a clock), tends to last in the 2:45-3:00 range. Maybe a bit more.
Unless it's the Red Sox and Yankees, which tend toward four hours or more, for various reasons.
If a night game at The Rogers Centre, you should be leaving the stadium at about 9:45 to 10:15 PM, assuming of the unlikely extra inning game, and like someone said, if it goes too long, you can go home anytime.
An average game lasts about 3 hours.
If no long rally's or extra innings the game will last about 3 hours
Like 3 hours long. It all depends on how quick the innings finish
There is no clear set time, but the average MLB game, is three hours
about 3 hours. you're not required to stay until the end.
I'm going to a jays game and I was wondering how long the game will be...thanks!
