How fast do high school pitchers throw?

High school pitchers vary. A high end player, one who will get looks from MLB scouts, will throw 80-95. But, honestly, anything upwards of 65 is really good. And as long as you pitch with decent control, velocity doesn't matter that much.

Speed ball? Smh. Anyways, 74 as a sophomore is solid, but nothing special. I threw 76 as a sophomore this past year, so I was probably a little above average but again, nothing special. If you play JV, pitchers will range anywhere from 65-75. Varsity you'll see pretty much 90% of guys at 80+, with the occasional stud being able to crank it up to 88-90.

75+

50 MPH

I am going to be a sophomore next year and I would to pitch on the mound next yearr. This past year I was a batboy for a college summer baseball team in Georgia. We went to the championship but lost yesterday. While the players were warming I warm up with one of them and I clocked 74 with my speed ball. Last year I clocked at 61 mph. My speed has went from 35 mph in the fifth grade to 74 mph in the 9th grade. This past year I won Most Improved Player for schools JV basketball. After the championship game yesterday my coach was a college and minor league player and a minor league baseball coach and college coach and after thirty years of coaching he retired and gave me his jersey for appreciation for my two years of being the batboy for his team. Next year I will playing for a Christian school who did not win a game last year (they only have a varsity baseball team) and in two years I will playing for school varsity team is like a jv team and the teams that they play are like JV teams.
