How do you make a belt for the katana?

Traditionally, the katana is thrust into the "obi" or sash that holds one's outer garment or "kimono" in place.

Here's the Wiki article... Scroll down to "Men's Obi";

That is a tough one ask your master...

1st off, i am not studying a katana martial arts, i studied a mix of combat, judo, and karate..

I started became passionate in martial arts a year ago (even though im frail and low on stamina). My sensei admired my eagerness to learn and decided to teach me how to use some weapons. I learned how to weild a nunchuck, arnis (the 2 wooden sticks), a little bit of the long staff, and the katana. My sensei decided to give me his katana because he is going to america soon.

thing is... i didnt recieve a belt holster. i have no idea how to put it in my belt too because learning to use katana is a side thing.

so please, can u teach me how to somehow put the sheath in my waist? some holster or something? because if there were ever i need to use it, i cant hold both my katana and the sheath at the same time. nor would i risk putting my sheath down and pick it up later.

thanks in advance

PS: this was given to me, so i have no basic idea what kind of katana it is. All i can say is, its a simple katan you normally see in the movies. please forgive my lack of knowledge of this stuff too.
