But I agree with you that Hendricks won the fight.
Anytime you have a fight where one fighter lands heavier blows while the other lands more then you have the dilemma that you you have with this fight. Also what compounds this even more for this particular fight was that GSP's face showed obvious damage from the fight after most of the rounds. A couple of things though are factors also and those are you have a fighter who is fair skinned with a smooth complexion so of course his face is going to show damage more easily. You also had the other fighter wearing a full beard and in boxing that is usually not allowed for several reasons but it seems to be alright in MMA. Why though is beyond me because those same reasons exist in MMA.
GSP out boxed Hendricks as well as out kicked him and had more take downs as well as controlled and dictated things more throughout most of the fight and that along with landing more punches and kicks is why he won the fight. It was extremely close though. So much so that one of those close rounds could have easily gone to Hendricks instead of GSP if you had different judges. That would give Hendricks three rounds to GSP's two; that's how close it was.
As for GSP's temporary retirement and the state of things in that weight division I think that the UFC needs to tell GSP you have eight months to rest and heal up before you defend your title. I think they should set a time limit since they already have a problem in another weight division with Cruz not defending his title for some time now and apply it across the board to all weight classes and champions in those weight classes. Secondly the fight was that close that Hendricks should hold his #1 contender status and GSP's next title defense should be a rematch.
I already said in this forum a few weeks ago that GSP is going to Hollywood and I stand by that. In the mean time other fighters careers should not be on terminal or indefinite hold because of that or any other reason which is why they need a policy in place like what I mention above.
As a GSP fan I have to say Hendricks won 3 rounds but it could have gone either way. Lets not forget GSP bruises extremely easily.Hendricks should know never leave it to the judges because things like that can happen, Its not GSP's fault the judges are incompetent and he was clearly concussed in his interview, You try putting a sentence together after being hit by Hendricks for 25 mins.
I thought Hendricks clearly won three rounds.
It was a bad decision IMO, and yeah GSP's stupid speech afterwards was ridiculous. I don't remember anything, I have personal issues and need to take a break, blah blah. I was like "dude, are you f*cking retiring or not?".
dumbest decision ever.
those judges were sus af
Personally I thought that hendricks won, like, 59%. GSP by 41%. I consider that a huge injustice, and Gsp's moronic speach about personal business was like rubbing salt in a sore wound. So anyways, what is your thoughts?
