This is a good question that more people should talk about in my opinion. I remember back at last year's Royal Rumble when Roman Reigns was on fire and people wanted him to win and thought he should have. Now everybody has been saying that he is not ready for the last few months. I think the reason people liked him when with The Shield was because he had Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to help him. Part of being in a tag team or faction is that you have other guys to help you look good and be exciting. In the Shield, Ambrose was the talker and all around wrestelr, Seth Rollins was the high-flyer, and Reigns was the powerhouse. The three of them went together pretty good. Now that Reigns is an individual, people see that he is not great on the mic (but has gotten better these past few weeks) and not as entertaining like some of the other wrestlers.
BQ: I think it would have been a bit split. People would have still complained but it would have been less complaining in my opinion.
Mainly because of booking, in The Shield Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose covered for Roman Reigns; but alone WWE has dropped the ball. For example, The Royal Rumble. Reigns showed that he could stand for longer matches Vs Bryan at WWE Fastlane, some of The People are still ........ that 'WWE Screwed Punk' so what do you expect.
I never really liked him, but I didn't hate him either.
Started finding him awkward once he was pushed forward as the 'leader', and proceeded to get much stronger booking and commentary support than Seth or Dean ever did.
It all comes down to the booking. He's hyped up by commentary like Cena; and booked to absolutely topple talent that wrestles AND talks rings around him. And not even in a gimmicky sort of way, like when the Shield won most 3v3s, but still lost most 1v1s.
It's just relentlessly over-the-top favouritism directed towards a guy with no standout features. Apparently he's pretty, but I don't even see that - I always thought Seth would be considered the pretty one. :P
He never had my support, but, these days, I'd happily boo him whenever he goes up against better talent destined to be toppled and left to stagnate. =p

BQ: Probably not. The Shield was a good stable, and they'd still be helping to hide Roman's weaknesses. Enough cool factor and shared group exposure would make it easier for people like me to accept the push of the least talented member.
People did love the Shield and its members. The difference now is that Roman just came back from an injury and fans feel like he didn't work hard enough to win the Rumble.
Roman Reigns is fine; some people hate him because he has 'five moves of doom' when he has a very versatile moveset. I've accustomed myself to some unoriginality like his finishing move; another spear, that's what the business needed..nevertheless he is a star.
They don't like reigns ause Daniel Bryan didn't win the rumble
People loved him in the shield. No one crapped on him then.
I don't hate or like regins. I do not care but I'm glad his getting his chance. Bryan had his moment at WM30
No he was liked originally. But WWE pushed Reigns before he was ready.
I DON'T HATE REIGNS NOW
Ya its True But Now he is a hero
