Cano is a much better player
Terrible move. Cano has more value as a second baseman than Ellsbury does as an outfielder. Sure, Ellsbury hits for average and steals a large number of bases, but there are several other outfielders which can do that. Not to the same degree, but you know what I mean. How many second baseman are as good fantasy assets as Cano? All I can think of is Dustin Pedroia.
Also, Ellsbury is a bum. He'll be on the DL by the All Star break, you watch.
Cano is the best offensive second baseman in the league, you have to factor that in. There are plenty of outfielders that will produce at a similar or better level than Ellsbury probably will this season, so Cano is more valuable to have. Ellsbury was a very good hitter in Fenway, not really sold on that he'll be that much better as a Yankee offensively. Cano's homers will go down, but he'll hit a ton of doubles in that park and drive in plenty of runs.
Positional value alone makes this a bad deal for you. As previously stated it is much more difficult to find quality fantasy numbers out of 2nd baseman so his positional value puts him significantly better than Ellsbury. Factor in Jacoby's injury history, we know Cano can be counted on almost automatically for 150+ games and we can almost automatically assume Ellsbury will land on the DL at least once....not a good trade for you. Maybe you can coax him out of the other guy with a different package but straight up the other guy kills you in this deal.
That is a horrible move for you. Cano will put up his similar numbers. Ellsbury will probably get hurt. Do not discount Cano. He'll be just fine out there. The Yankees were fools to let him go.
No its not a good trade keep cano. Cano will surpass ellsbury any day.
No. Ellsbury in real life is worth more than fantasy because of defense. Cano is more valuable than him in real life and fantasy. No brainer, don't do it.
I would keep Can because 2nd baseman there is not great quality 2nd basemen then are outfielder
I have Cano and I want Elsbury.... Is this a good trade? I think the change in stadiums will hurt Cano as it will help Jacoby.
