Can snap kicks knock someone out?

Snap kicks, like a front snap kick, or a taekwondo style roundhouse, where they turn their hip and snap the kick , a fast motion , or do you prefer a full motion turn, with full power?

Well, a taekwondo roundhouse is the same as any other roundhouse kicks, it's a full 180 degree rotation of the hips.

What kick you're talking about is a turning kick, which is a kick taken froma chambered position and then you turn your heel into the enemy. They may not look or feel very devastating, but they are very powerful and can knock people out without putting the user at harm or throwing them off balance unlike the roundhouse can do.

The roundhouse is really a technique used for attrition, the turning kicks are used to quickly end a fight, because when you turn to kick, you kick downwards, not up. So the strike is more greater.

A knock-out blow doesn't actually have to be powerful, if you hit a sweet spot accurately the person on the receiving end will go down to even a light blow.

In a fight people move and defend themselves so hitting that sweet spot becomes a lot more difficult, you have to be much faster than the other guy and very accurate, if that's not something that comes easily to you that's where power becomes an advantage, if you're hitting with great power you don't have to be hitting with accute precision because you'll damage the target anyway.

In the end though the decision is entirely personal, what works for some doesn't always work for others. One thing to remember, which ever you prefer, don't neglect the other.

Yeah, if you get the timing of the motion correct it can generate enough speed and power to knock someone out. Or you have to get a good target/knockout point. Some are better than others and they also vary from one person to the next.

What do you consider a full motion turn? Every technique has a motion and if you do not finish that motion or that motion is not continuous you can not generate as much speed or power. It is called a bad technique. Subsequently, to knock someone out with a bad technique is a lot harder.

Snap kicks can KO, but its not whether they can but the likely hood of it happening. Kicks for the most part are meant for one thing, to inflict a lot of damage, if that's not the purpose than their useless because punches are much safer but not as hard. When I kick I follow through with my weight and hips to maximize power. I only throw snap kicks if I'm faking it for another strike or if I'm trying to create space or gauging distance.

Of course. But I don't recommend kicking above the waist, yours or theirs.

yes they knock people out if preformed correctly. but it take alot of time and practice to perfect the move.

you can be kncked out by a simple slap
