What does your new Gi look like? Is it white? Is it made of thick/heavy cotton? Is so it should be alright. If not, I hope you've kept the receipt!

I don't think so. Standard Aikido "gi" is a dress... I don't know its name but it's a dress.

Should be fine, might be a little thicker but that also means it will last longer.

@ Billy: It's not a "dress", it's a Hakama, and you can wear either one.

That is more up to your instructor, some can be very strict others are more tolerable.

Hi. I'm soon entering an Aikido class and the sensei told me to get a Judo gi. However, for pure budget reasons, I managed only to get a Jiu Jitsu gi. Is that alright ? Is there a radical difference between a Jiu Jitsu gi and a Judo gi ?
