BONUS QUESTION: Who was more intense in the ring?
Kurt Angle. The guy had something Benoit lacked. Mic Skills and IMHO angle was better in the ring.
Chris Benoit!!!!
Olympic Gold is one hell of a credential, it's hard to argue with something like that. Of course there's a difference between pro and amateur wrestling, but Angle took to the pro game just fine. Could Benoit have taken to top level amateur wrestling in the same way? Who knows, quite possibly, but he didn't so that's that. Angle has to be the better overall wrestler in my book, by virtue of accomplishment (not saying that's all there is to it, but there's no gulf between their in-ring work of a kind to let Benoit surpass Angle when all's said and done).
Benoit made Kurt Angle a star in WWE.
'The Rabid Wolverine' was ten times better then 'The Olympic Gold Medalist' Kurt Angle
Anyone who claims 'The Rabid Wolverine' didn't have a 'Personality' or 'Promo Skills' needs to watch his 'Prove Me Wrong' Promo, Kurt Angle has been doing the exact same Angle since Day One; at least in Impact! Wrestling Kurt Angle now has two Angles.
1. Being an Olympic Gold Medalist
2. Being a hasbeen whose wrestling with toothpicks holding him together
