Best martial art for fighting?

There is no best style.

They will all work as long as you train right and have a good instructor.

styles are made to adapt to your body type

Your size, body type and sex have nothing to do with the style you want to choose. People that think that your size and body type determine the style know little to nothing about martial arts

Most people will tell you there style is the best or they heard such and such is a great style,

The style is not important, what matters is how good your instructor is and how you train. The style is secondary, they all have there pro's and con's there are no superior styles.

If you have an instructor that can’t teach you how to fight, regardless of the style, what good would it do you?

Choose a school with a good instructor in the end that’s all that matters, that and how you train.

Its the person that has the ability to fight not the style

The way you worded the question in your post you mean sports fighting but the way you described it you are looking for self defense. They are not the same. So pick any teachers who teaches martial arts for self defense and not sports. All styles can be taught many different ways for many different reasons. A style name will not guarantee that the school in your area actually teaches that style for self defense and not sport. So unfortunately you will have to do your own homework and see what is available in your area. You are limited to that. Keep an open mind and you may find a really good teacher in the most unlikely of styles.

To be good at martial arts you need to be able to dedicate yourself so that your training eventually turns into a reflex reaction. If you aren't prepared to make it a way of life then you might as well carry mace or buy a gun.

Find a good MMA gym. If you can't, stick with the staples of mma that have been time tested. You can't go wrong with BJJ or Muay Thai.

Bjj is good for mma, but on the streets, if u get taken to the ground, u may get stamped out due to people looking vulnerable or people will split it up. I'd go with a striking fighting style tho.

"there is no best martial art"

"the best martial art is combination of martial arts"

Boxing or Muay Thai, but for me Boxing because it's easier to learn and if you strengthen your arms and legs you could do a one punch knockout.

Judo

it seems you like brawling. Do BJJ/Shoot wrestling

Almost any street fight will eventually finish on the ground and best for that i Brazilian jiu jitcu .

I'm not talking about a martial art for tournament style fighting. I'm looking for a good fighting martial art to end a fight quickly and efficiently. Anybody know some good ones?
