Baseball hitting question?

Posted at: 2015-05-07
I need help with my timing. Like when do i get my front foot down. How how would i hit a fast pitcher? Thanks for the help

Don't worry about your front foot, in Ty Cobbs days, kids and MLB players didn't swing from their feet like us kids do today to hit the ball as far as we can. To answer your question, simply use the power of your sub-conscious mind (or instincts) to pull the trigger (swing the bat) a little quicker then you normally do against a pitcher that isn't super fast. REMEMBER, YOU CAN'T THINK AND HIT AT THE SAME TIME! If you have quick reflexeses, then as someone else said, "see ball and hit ball", ONLY SWING A SECOND or so earlier, after seeing these super fastball pitchers, with experience it will become easy! Please perish the thought about timing. When you are making 10 million dollars a year, then you can talk about timing, but preferably to sportscasters who ask you a bunch of dumb questions.

You always have your front foot down when the pitcher finishes his wind up. To hit off a fast pitcher, what i do is step closer to the plate. That way you can keep your bat close to your body and generate more power on the swing which also means quicker bat

I really never stride or lift my foot at all especially when the pitcher is throwing hard. I usually just use hip movement to start the swing. And make sure you are keeping your eye on the ball even while your swinging, it will help immensely.

Hope this helped.

Its very simple and easy.

See Ball, Hit Ball.
