I think the Cardinals will have something to say about that. I believe it would be exceptionally good for baseball if the Pirates make the playoffs. I hope it happens. Whether they win the division may not be an issue as both teams are playing well enough to, at the very least, grab a wild card spot.
Such a tough call since there are so many NL teams with a shot. I am going to go out on a limb and say the Cardinals win the NL Central and both the Reds and Pirates from the NL Central go to the playoffs as a Wild Card.
If the Regular Season ended today, the Pirates would get the 1st Wild Card spot in the NL, they are currently 3.5 games up on the Reds & 4.5 games up on the Arizona Diamondbacks, they'll need to keep playing well in orde to be in position to make the Playoffs come October however
I predict a Braves vs Pirates wild card game that the Pirates win. The standings hardly mean anything at this point and anything can happen in baseball.
I think they have a shot but if they finished as the #2 wild card then they will have a hard time trying to get to the post season.
