Why do people watch sports?

I can't understand why people watch sports and get so passionate about their teams. I mean, who gives a ****? How do people get excited about grown men crashing into each other while fighting over a ball? I mean, sports don't accomplish anything; they don't so anything for socket or people's welfare. Yes, they earn money, promote teamwork, etc. but those benefits can be attained through other, more straightforward activities. I really don't understand why anyone is fascinated by any sport. I've tried watching the m, and they are just so boring. I have Aspergers, btw

Beats me. I'm guessing some people are such wastes of life that they prefer to spend their free time in meaningless hero worship. It's sickening if you ask me, especially when they could be doing something more beneficial to society.

@ Joshua: those other forms of entertainment involve personal participation, education or artistic appreciation. Watching people kick around a ball for a couple of hours is plain boring.

I love cooking competition, singing contests, but not grown men hitting a ball with a stick. There are just so many varieties of tests of skill that we cannot possibly love them all. We will have favorites and those we think pointless. You're OK.

Why do people play video games? Why do people watch movies? Why do people listen to music? Sports is another form of entertainment.

Hey, it's a lot better than listening to political talk radio or watching Fox News all day. I truly feel sorry for people who feel they have nothing better to do with their life than that.
