Would bruce lee actually compete with the new UFC fighters?

Lee was not even remotely interested in any sort of competition. He was all about developing a practical fighting system. I'm sure he would not be interested in competition such as the UFC.

I don't know about the game, but he was nowhere near 170lbs. He would likely have competed at 135 or 125, if he did.

By all accounts he was very athletic, and a very hard worker. If you simply transported him from 1970 or something, he may have been unprepared for the movement patterns modern fighters use (ground fighting, shin kicks to the thigh, clinch fighting, etc) but given ample time to prepare, and assuming he stayed injury-free, I think he would have done his best to pick up every aspect of the game, much like GSP did. He'd probably be competitive with all but the top guys, just because he would have had a relatively late start to the game.

A similar question was asked elsewhere. So a copy and paste.

Acting like Bruce Lee wouldn't be utilizing modern training, technique, and technology is foolish at best. I see him going about it no different than Dan Inosanto who now has black belts in many styles including BJJ. It's not a simple as saying "In his prime" because bringing him into our era would be a different prime. I have no doubt he would have a pro record in many combat sports if given the time.

But I'm not foolish enough to think he's the greatest fighter that ever lived. One of the most inspirational martial artists of all time? I don't see why not.

Bruce Lee was interested in all different kinds of martial arts, and I have never heard of him getting his *** beat. He got injured and came back.

He was known to train with Chuck Norris sometime, but they never fought each other outside that movie. He didn't seem interested in competition at all. I doubt he would be in UFC, but I bet a lot of his students would be big players in UFC.

If Bruce Lee had set his mind to it he would have been very competitive in UFC. But he was all about the philosophy of martial arts, not beating someone's brains in. Martial arts is supposed to be self-defense after all.

Doubt it. Bruce Lee doesn't know pound and ground so he would be at a big disadvantage.

No he only started to learn grappling when he died.

completely different set of skills.... and honestly.... no one compares to the master.... ever.

Ive been playing the new ufc 2014 game and bruce lee is a dlc character. Well with fighters in his weight class like georges st-piere, johnny hendricks, bj penn, khabib nurmagomedov, jose aldo, and gilbert mendez, does he really compete with modern athletes? He was at the top of the food chain during his time , but how about now? i just cant see him putting up a fight against any of the best of his weight class, whats your opinion?
