Why is ip man never mentioned by Bruce lee?

I don't know if anyone has ever noticed but ip man is Bruce lees mentor but he is never mentioned in Bruce's films, why is that?

In relation with this................

Bruce Lee spent just 2 years as a kid (13-15 years old) to Yip Man's school. He left before he even completed his third year, since he had to move. The reason why he stopped, is because he had to move to another place.

According to Ip Chun, the older son of Yip Man, Bruce Lee initially taught to Westerns the Wing Chun that he knew. Then he went to Yip Man and offered him an apartment to taught him the latter parts of the wooden dummy form and film him performing the first form .

Yip Man refused, since at the time the Chinese didn't believe that it was appropriate for their arts to be taught to foreigners and because he didn't though that it was descent for him to accept this, just for the money.

So, still according to Ip Chun, Bruce Lee went back and didn't taught Wing Chun anymore but his own ways.

True or not, who knows?

To answer the question...........

In movies Bruce Lee was playing characters not himself, so....

Why would he be? The movies Lee was in weren't about Lee's life. They were fictitious accounts of other people's lives. How come Jon Voigt is never mentioned in any of Angelina Jolie's films? Because that's ACTING. They're playing pretend.

I read all of Lee's published material, and it's true, he does not mention his first instruction.

I'm inclined to believe it's because he essentially rejected this classic form and it's method of instruction.

Although he did retain some of the Wing chun technique.. The "sticky hands" and the "grabbing hands", Lee spent a great deal of time dissing "the classical mess", the traditional and formalized forms of various types of kung fu and their reliance on tradition over practicality.

Just the way he made his films. I don't think Chuck Norris or Jet Li ever mention their mentors while Steven Segall tells the same story in every movie.

Your right!! When Bruce Lee was interviewed he never mentions Yip Man.

Ip man is just a famous movies there are not a lot of books on Ip Man as a person.

I don't know if anyone has ever noticed but ip man is Bruce lees mentor but he is never mentioned in Bruce's films, why is that?
