Keyboard warrior pretty much hit the nail on the head and I will only add that on pro fight cards fighters are never left un-escorted once they enter their respective locker rooms. A state athletic official is with them there and accompanies them even if they go to the bathroom. Fighters are restricted from leaving the locker rooms and they of course change and warm up there and then are accompanied to the cage or ring by these state inspectors. This prevents a fighter from taking anything orally just before the fight that might help give him any type of advantage. The stricter states like Nevada and Illinois will only allow a fighter to drink bottled water that is already there and provided by the promoter and those state athletic commission inspectors monitor the fighters and their corners as well as over see the wrapping of hands and tapping of them and the gloving of fighters to prevent anything amiss concerning any of that as well. All this really cuts down on the various ways a fighter or his corner can do something in the way of cheating then.
