Which of these two should I train?

Most MMA fighters are specialized in a certain area of fighting. They're either great strikers, great Jiu Jitsu fighters or great wrestlers. Most aren't generalists. I think it would be more beneficial for you to focus on BJJ, and then when your grappling skills start to shine through, look into picking up MMA. Overall you want to be a well-rounded fighter, but even well-rounded fighters still have a go-to place, and the ground should be yours, since you have a wrestling background.

As of now, that's kind of what I'm doing. I've been focusing on BJJ for the past 4-5 years, and when I'm good and ready, I'm going to start incorporating stand up training and sign up for an MMA fight.

Why don't you go to a few classes of each and decide which one you prefer, personally I think Jiu Jitsu would look better on a cv or if you ever tell someone about your hobbies than MMA would.

This fall I am going to college and there's a martial arts gym near my campus. Over the last few months I've been wanting to learn and train and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. But this gym also has MMA class. I have a previous background in Wrestling from 3 years of high school wrestling. So now as I go to college, I can't decide which to choose. Idk how to strike so MMA would be awesome and I'd learn how to do BJJ at the same time. But then if I focused on BJJ and only BJJ, I can become a better grappler and quickly improve my skills since that's what I have more focus on. If you were in my situation, which would you choose and why? Btw I'm primarily doing these classes in order to learn self defense and also competition.
